Blue Blubber, Leidy's Comb, Lion's Mane, Pacific Sea Nettle, Purple-Striped, Moon - what do all these have in common? They are the 9 varieties of jellyfish making up the "Jellies Invasion" exhibit currently on display in the National Aquarium in Baltimore. Jellyfish or sea jellies are found in every ocean, at every depth - currently over 1,700 species worldwide.

Linda Lum DeBono, SideKick360 winner for 4/18/14 was drawn to these captivating creatures on a recent family trip.

"When the kids and I visited the National Aquarium in Baltimore, MD, I was obsessed with the jellyfish. They were graceful and mesmerizing, but my kids wanted to leave. I took out my iPhone 4 and snapped a few shots. Luckily, I got a few good ones. I did a little editing in Snapseed and added a frame."

Clickin's Moms. They're out there in force - professionals, aspiring professionals and women who are just passionate about capturing the lives of their children. There is even a dedicated website  - www.clickinmoms.com. What Kendra Okolita started as a safe place for a small group of women to talk photography has grown into an on-line home for more than 16,000 women. Here members find resources for technical knowledge, artistic growth, business development and a supportive community were all are welcome.

Whether she is an official member or not, last Friday's SideKick360 winner, Jessica Dieckhaus, is indeed a clickin' mom. Her winning image was the result of an impromptu spring photo session.

"Imagine perfect 70 degree weather, beautiful lush green grass, and some flowers blooming. That’s exactly what we found when we headed to Cortez Park literally a block away from my house in Jacksonville, FL. This little guy is a very good friend of mine's son. My friend had been wanting Easter and Spring pictures of both of her children. Being a military mom of two little ones under the age of three, we needed: quick, pretty and easy. This was the perfect spot. It also doesn’t hurt that Florida spring starts early here. With the mom's assistance, we tried capturing images of both her kids together, but the almost three-year-old decided she didn’t want very many pictures with her younger brother. That's when we decided to do just the little guy. While mom got him to laugh, I just kept shooting away on my Nikon D5100. That’s when this image happened. "

MaryAnne Nelson's Wild West: MeFOTO Instagram Weekly Winner

by Colleen Carlisle-Nicholas       Category Family Photography, Giveaway, Travel Photography, Sports photography       Tags skijoring, Instagram giveaway, MeFOTO Backpacker, MeFOTO Giveaway

YeeHaw! The Wild West is still alive in Silverton, Colorado! Final BackPacker Giveaway winner, MaryAnne Nelson, had a blast snapping the fun during the Fifth Annual Silverton Skijoring Festival.

The sport of skijoring began several hundred years ago in Scandinavian countries as a way to travel during the long winters. Today, skijoring competitions are currently taking place in 5 states in the USA and in several countries worldwide.

"Skijoring is a great spectator sport with horses running full speed down the street and skiers hanging on for their lives behind the horse. The big challenge for the skier is to grab rings on the course, jump over the jumps, and go through the obstacles while still hanging on behind a horse going all out. You never get bored watching!" - MaryAnne
