Rene Magritte was a Belgium surrealist artist best know for a number of witty, thought provoking images that influenced pop, minimalist and conceptual art of the 1960's & 1970's.
Congratulations to last week's SideKick360 winner, Alicia Katsur, who takes inspiration from Magritte and shares with us her own piece of conceptual art:
"The mural you see in the photo is located in Beacon, NY and reminds me of Rene Magritte's painting called "Son of Man". The painting is quite famous and the image is of a face with a green apple in front of it. I made the apple you see in the photo and wanted to take a photo of it in front of the mural. The idea originally was to hold the apple closer to the camera to make it appear larger as in Magritte's painting. Instead, I decided to have a little fun and take some action shots. What you see is the result." - Alicia
