Did you know a major Buddhist Monastery is located a scant 1.5 hours from Midtown Manhattan? Just head north on the Taconic Parkway to Rte 301 in Carmel and you too can enjoy some inner peace on its gorgeous, 125-acre grounds.
Our SideKick360 winner for 4/25/14, Dave Mangels' found his winning image there on a recent visit:
"This photo was taken using my Fuji X-E1 up at the Chuang Yen Monastery in Kent, New York. The temple is home to the largest indoor Buddha statue in the US. It's really quite a beautiful and peaceful place. Surrounding that main Buddha is the "Hall of 10,000 Buddhas" which is pictured in this image. It is a beautiful place and I can only hope I did it a little bit of justice by capturing this photo!" - Dave
