This picturesque scene, shot at Dale Walborn Reservoir in Ohio, seems too perfect to be true. Photographer Bill Mobilian, this 1,852 acre park is home to hoards of wildlife including the heron captured here. If you're an outdoor enthusiast, this reservoir offers an escape for equestrians, hikers, canoeists and kayakers.
"Taken on May 26, 2013 at 6:07 am At Dale Walborn Reservoir, Marlboro, Ohio. I used a Pentax K30, with a Pentax DA 55-300 F/4-5.8. Focal length of 55mm, ISO 200, 1/180 @ F/4 using my Benro tripod. The nighttime temps were predicted to be in the lower forties. I knew there would be fog/mist on the lake as the water was warmer than the air and no wind was forecast. The moon was also to set about an hour after sunrise. I was on the causeway between two sections of the lake photographing flocks of Canadian geese taking wing just after sunrise. I saw the heron take off from shore, traveling from right to left, then make a loop towards me and across, just below the moon. I think he was showing off!" - Bill
